📋 Description

• This is a remote position. • Job Title: Unisys COBOL Application Developer. • Location: Remote. • Duration: Full-Time. • NEED IRS MBI Clearance. • The Position: Our client is looking for a Unisys COBOL Application Developer to join our growing team. • The ideal candidate has experience modifying and maintaining a Unisys COBOL based system and experience dealing with legacy style online and batch applications, systems, and data storage. • This is a full-time, salaried position. • Role Specific Duties: Assist in interpreting software requirements and design specifications to code and integrate and test software components. • Perform maintenance and testing activities for newly implemented and existing applications • Analyze user requirements, document, and revise systems functionalities • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve application problems • Provide production support and maintain existing systems by researching and troubleshooting any problems • Identify form and coded changes that may affect other systems up and down work stream. • Use established tools and procedures for software source control • Review computer system capabilities, workflow, and help resolve limitations • Analyze computer source code and live performance indicators to locate code problems and correct errors • Experience working effectively in a highly collaborative Agile team • Analyze new tools and technologies and assist with implementation inside existing architectures. • Experience working in a water fall development environment. • Provide technical leadership and guidance as required.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 10 years’ experience developing software and/or web applications • 5+ years of experience with Unisys COBOL • 5+ years of experience with Executive Control Language. • 5+ years doing development in a Unisys mainframe environment. • Must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills while functioning effectively under time constraints in a dynamic environment where quality results are imperative • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment • Ability to handle multiple projects, multiple systems, respond well to shifting priorities, work well under pressure • Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
