📋 Description

• Lead and develop the settlement negotiators and support team • Hire, onboard, train, and manage team performance • Conduct structured one-on-ones, file reviews, and coaching sessions • Build individual development plans for team members • Address performance and conduct issues in partnership with Human Resources • Own department KPIs, including settlement volume, average settlement value, policy-limits capture rate, net client recovery, stage times, aged-file exposure, demand turnaround, and productivity • Set performance standards based on jurisdiction, case type, treatment posture, coverage, and liability profile • Review pipeline and performance data and diagnose operational causes • Report department performance, forecasts, and risks to firm leadership • Manage aged and stalled inventory • Serve as final internal authority on case valuation and settlement strategy within approval limits • Review and approve demand packages, settlement authority requests, and counteroffers • Apply and teach valuation methodology across injury types, including soft tissue, injections, surgery, and traumatic brain injury • Identify bad faith setups, policy-limits opportunities, UM/UIM exposure, and coverage issues • Personally handle or co-handle high-exposure and sensitive negotiations • Maintain and improve SOPs, checklists, templates, and case-stage definitions • Partner with medical management on treatment monitoring, records, billing, reductions, and lien resolution • Coordinate with intake, case management, and litigation for clean handoffs • Ensure negotiated resolutions are documented, compliant, client-approved, and disbursed accurately and timely • Implement and measure technology, reporting, and workflow improvements • Set standards for client settlement counseling and communication • Ensure communication in clients' preferred language • Resolve escalated client concerns and improve processes based on them

🎯 Requirements

• Three to five years of progressive experience in personal injury, with substantial time in pre-suit settlement and negotiation • Three or more years directly managing a settlements, pre-litigation, or case management team • Experience carrying responsibility for other people's results • Demonstrated experience managing through metrics, including setting standards, tracking performance, coaching underperformers, and holding people accountable • Command of case valuation, including medical specials, treatment trajectory, procedure-level valuation, comparative fault, coverage layers, and venue analysis • Fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken • Working knowledge of Florida personal injury practice, including PIP, the statutory pre-suit framework, and applicable damages and fee rules • Comfort working in a case management system, reports, and spreadsheets • Ability to build or read pipeline reports and draw conclusions from data • Reliable internet, a computer, and a quiet, professional workspace • CV submitted in English • Authorization to work in the United States
