📋 Description

• Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for OB/GYN services including: • Obstetric care: prenatal, antepartum, delivery, postpartum, and global packages • Gynecologic surgeries: hysterectomy, laparoscopy, endometrial ablation, etc. • Primary care and preventive visits: well-woman exams, preventative visits, annual wellness visits, screenings, immunizations • Psychiatry and behavioral health visits related to perinatal and women’s mental health • Nurse practitioner and physician E/M encounters • Validate documentation for compliance with CPT, ICD-10-CM, and payer guidelines • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes and payer regulations • Meet and maintain department productivity and quality standards • Protect the confidentiality and security of all protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA • Collaborate with providers and billing staff to resolve documentation and coding discrepancies

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of physician-based coding experience • strong background in OB/GYN and related women’s health services • Proficiency in coding E/M (Evaluation & Management) services for primary care, psychiatry, and nurse practitioner visits • Demonstrated experience coding OB global packages, deliveries, gynecologic surgeries, and related procedures • Comprehensive understanding of OB/GYN terminology, anatomy, and physiology • Knowledge of payer-specific billing guidelines and global obstetric package rules • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, multiple EHRs, and internet research) • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment • Athena experience preferred
