• Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations • Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns and gain calls to action to close sales calls • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements • Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency • Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales • Share market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, in-field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders • Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations
• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience, including three or more years preferred within the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry, and a high school diploma/GED required • Proven track record of success in selling • Solid presentation skills • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing • English language proficiency verbally and in writing for non-English-speaking countries • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain them • Demonstrated in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment • Valid driver’s license • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe-driving requirements • Willingness to travel 50% of the time
