📋 Description

• Develop and maintain robust backend services capable of handling high-volume global traffic • Implement functional APIs and optimize query performance • Contribute to modular, resilient, service-oriented architecture • Write clean, maintainable code using SOLID principles, OOP best practices, and design patterns • Debug and resolve issues across the technology stack • Integrate asynchronous processes using queues and basic event-driven patterns • Collaborate with Senior Engineers and Product teams to turn requirements into technical solutions • Lead the evolution of Airalo’s global eSIM platform serving more than 30 million users • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting 24/7 global service reliability

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional backend development experience with PHP • Proven experience building applications in Laravel or strong Symfony background with desire to transition to Laravel • Strong understanding of OOP, interfaces, and code modularity • Solid knowledge of SQL, including database indexing, migrations, and basic query optimization • Ability to effectively use AI tools during technical tasks, including prompting, validating, and iterating • Familiarity with Docker and basic CI/CD pipeline troubleshooting • Experience writing unit and feature tests • Fluent English and ability to communicate technical progress within a remote team • Familiarity with caching mechanisms such as Redis/Memcached and cloud services such as AWS • Experience with SaaS or Traveltech solutions • Experience with eSIM or GSMA technologies • Curiosity for distributed systems and horizontal scaling • Must already reside and be fully eligible to work in Spain or the UK
