📋 Description

• Set technical direction, make build-vs-buy decisions, define architecture, and own the technical roadmap with product leadership • Turn ambiguous problems into concrete plans by scoping work, identifying risks, breaking down initiatives, and driving cross-team alignment • Design and deliver scalable pipelines, robust services, and high-performance production systems • Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot • Evaluate and integrate AI/ML capabilities including LLMs, embeddings, and classification models into production systems • Drive cross-team technical initiatives, lead RFCs, architectural reviews, and consensus-building • Own systems from requirements through release and production operation • Monitor SLOs/SLIs, troubleshoot production issues, and improve reliability • Raise engineering standards through code reviews, mentorship, technical documentation, and role modeling

🎯 Requirements

• Strong in Python, the primary backend language • Production experience in at least two programming languages • Designed and owned production systems serving real users at scale • Made consequential architectural decisions and owned outcomes • Led cross-team technical initiatives without formal authority • Strong system design instincts covering failure modes, data flow, scalability, and operational cost • Deep DevOps and operational experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), CI/CD, and observability • Track record of mentoring engineers and raising team standards • Hands-on session in a real development environment as part of the technical interview • Ability to navigate unfamiliar code, leverage AI tools critically, decompose problems, make incremental progress, and communicate trade-offs • Experience leading large-scale migrations or platform rewrites • Hands-on AI/ML production experience with LLMs, BERT, NLP pipelines, or document understanding systems • Experience with content processing, enrichment, or search systems at scale • Familiarity with Java • Experience with GitOps, ArgoCD, or Infrastructure as Code • Active practice of AI-assisted development (AIDLC)
