📋 Description

• Serve as a design engineer for bridges and transportation structures, including new design, inspection, rehabilitation, and repair • Lead, assign, and review work while providing technical guidance to team members • Develop engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and contract documents • Evaluate engineering alternatives and apply sound judgment in design decisions • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle • Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and design deliverables • Perform structural analysis and design with increasing complexity under senior review • Provide mentorship and oversight to junior structural engineers on small to mid-sized projects • Coordinate across disciplines (transportation, geotechnical, drainage, etc.) to ensure integrated solutions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited) • Minimum 7+ years of structural/bridge engineering experience • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee OR ability to obtain Tennessee PE within 6–12 months • Strong experience in structural analysis and design • Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications • Experience with Bentley software suite (e.g., OpenBridge, MicroStation) • Proficiency with structural analysis tools (e.g., Midas or similar) • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Excellent working knowledge of relevant design codes including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
