📋 Description

• Standardize packaging formats, materials, and equipment across regions while maintaining regulatory and customer-specific compliance • Drive sustainable, reliable, and cost-effective packaging solutions with Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, and EHS • Lead packaging initiatives and manage documentation aligned with European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation goals • Lead packaging and packaging waste compliance programs related to country-specific Extended Producer Responsibility regulations • Execute installation and retrofitting of packaging equipment • Develop global technical specifications and standards • Enable competitive bidding and consistent quality across suppliers with Procurement • Lead packaging-related capital projects through concept, design, testing, commissioning, and startup with Engineering • Travel approximately 30% of the time • Contribute to organizational goals by taking initiative, executing goals, and focusing on performance and safety • Improve organizational capacity and capabilities through collaborative relationships, talent optimization, and positive communication and influence • Serve as a subject matter expert individual contributor with no direct reports • Focus on technical aspects of capital projects rather than project management

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical, industrial, or packaging engineering • Approximately 10 years of progressive experience in industrial or chemical packaging • Experience operating in regulated manufacturing environments • Working knowledge of European packaging sustainability and regulatory frameworks • Packaging materials sourcing and supplier management • Packaging testing, validation, and change management • Capital Project Execution • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis • Excellent inter-personal and communications skills • Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times • Ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different • Fluent in English • Residing in Germany • Fluent in German is a plus • Experience in the pharma, food, or personal care sectors preferred • Experience with U.S. based projects and suppliers preferred • Management of vendors that submit regulatory reports preferred • Sustainability program support, including material selection and design, packaging footprint reduction, and documentation preferred • Maintaining documentation for regulatory and customer audits preferred
