📋 Description

• Lead Modernization: Advance the evolution of roommaster’s cloud solution – enhancing performance, scalability, and reliability through modern engineering practices • Drive Delivery Excellence: Oversee software development, QA, DevOps, and IT operations to ensure timely, high-quality releases aligned with company priorities • Collaborate on the Roadmap: Partner with product management and business leadership to align engineering execution with product vision and strategic objectives • Manage Budgets and Vendors: Oversee technology budgets, resource allocation, and vendor or outsourcing relationships to optimize delivery speed, quality, and cost • Operationalize KPIs: Establish and track key performance metrics – release velocity, uptime, delivery predictability, and system performance – to measure team impact • Build and Empower Teams: Develop high-performing teams and leaders, cultivate a culture of ownership and accountability, and promote best-in-class engineering processes • Champion Innovation: Identify opportunities for AI, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance product value and customer experience

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive technology leadership in SaaS or enterprise software organizations • At least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline • Proven experience leading modernization of cloud-based platforms with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability • Strong background in software engineering, DevOps, QA, and infrastructure operations • Demonstrated success managing technology budgets, vendors, and distributed teams • Skilled at aligning product and engineering initiatives to achieve business outcomes • Data-driven mindset with experience defining and managing KPIs for engineering performance and delivery • Excellent communication and leadership presence, with the ability to influence at all levels — from engineers to executives • Entrepreneurial spirit aligned with Aspire’s philosophy of ownership, innovation, and long-term growth • 5+ years of proven experience as a director or manager of engineering • 5+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, software engineering and architecture, including full-stack development • Some travel may be required for leadership and cross-company collaboration • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential • Legally authorized to work in Canada
