• Support 24x7 monitoring and response operations • Identify, validate, and escalate potential security incidents • Use SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection tools to distinguish benign activity from legitimate threats • Perform accurate alert triage and timely containment actions • Conduct initial investigations • Review vulnerability findings and assist with remediation verification • Contribute to trend analysis and refine detection logic • Collaborate with senior analysts and engineering teams to improve SOC workflows and alert fidelity • Document findings clearly in ticketing and reporting systems • Follow established playbooks • Stay informed about emerging threats and evolving security technologies • Develop toward independent investigation responsibilities
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA), access control concepts, and defense-in-depth strategies • Knowledge of common attack types, tactics, and vulnerabilities • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and the OSI model • Comfort operating in multiple operating system environments and interpreting basic system and event logs • Proficiency with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR platforms • Experience using vulnerability scanners and antivirus platforms • Understanding of signature-based and behavioral detection models • Ability to execute standard triage and response actions according to defined playbooks • Knowledge of risk management and compliance frameworks including ISO, HIPAA, and PCI DSS • Understanding of encryption and key management principles • Ability to handle logs and data containing PII, PHI, or PCI information according to privacy standards • Analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, professional conduct, and continuous learning skills • Microsoft SC200 and Sentinel 1 SIREN required or able to obtain • Microsoft AZ500 desirable • Additional certifications or equivalents such as A+/Network+, CCT, DFE, CSA, GISF, or ECSS considered
