📋 Description

• Develop and execute a five-year strategic automation roadmap • Define the technical scope for manufacturing automation projects, including AGVs, robotics, and cobots • Lead and coordinate complex, long-term engineering projects from inception to completion within budget and schedule guidelines • Identify and implement automation opportunities across receiving, storage, material handling, coating, finishing, and shipping • Act as a technical mentor, providing guidance and coaching to site-level technical teams • Partner with international regions to benchmark and transfer best-in-class automation solutions worldwide • Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on major contracts and projects • Interact with senior external personnel and internal leadership • Provide technical solutions to difficult problems as part of the MG-NA Process Technology team • Report to the Technical Director

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific field is required • Master's degree is preferred • Minimum of 10+ years of engineering experience in controls/automation including capital projects • 7+ years of experience will be considered for those with Master's engineering degrees • In-depth knowledge and experience in the specialty • Strong background in industrial electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems • Ability to complete difficult technical assignments without immediate supervision • Proficiency in AutoCAD to develop and update complex drawings (P&IDs, PFDs) • Experience with MS Project or Smartsheet for project tracking • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and ELS principles preferred • Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes and capital equipment purchasing • Strong verbal and written skills • Ability to interface effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute requirements • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestic and international
