• Act as Ministry Representative and lead construction contract administration on assigned projects • Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contract documents, specifications, safety, quality, and environmental requirements • Plan, coordinate, and supervise day labour construction forces, including hiring labour, equipment, and materials • Manage project budgets, including estimating, tracking, forecasting costs, and certifying quantities for payment • Chair and document preconstruction and construction meetings and prepare regular project status and expenditure reports • Resolve or assist in resolving construction claims, disputes, and contentious issues in collaboration with project managers and clients • Ensure quality management systems are implemented, including quality control, quality assurance, and auditing activities • Direct and mentor field staff and consultants, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused team environment • Maintain accurate project documentation, diaries, records, and as-built/red-line drawings • Understand and comply with the Binnie Safety Program and all applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulations
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Transportation, or Construction Engineering with a minimum of two years of related experience; OR a technical diploma with a minimum of four years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience • Extensive experience supervising field staff and managing construction contracts and resources • Proven experience delivering complex highway or transportation infrastructure construction projects • Strong knowledge of Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTT) Standard Specifications and contract administration practices • Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar construction budgets and schedules • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent desktop productivity tools • Willing and able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions, travel throughout British Columbia, and work away from home as project requirements dictate • Valid driver’s license
