📋 Description

• Own Shopify theme and storefront work for client stores from brief through launch across multiple engagements as needed • Build and maintain Liquid sections, templates, and extensible theme architecture • Implement Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, and modern app surfaces • Build or extend custom Shopify apps using Node/Remix or similar technologies for admin, storefront, or checkout workflows • Partner with PMs, designers, and US clients on scope, performance, SEO basics, analytics hooks, and launch risks • Use AI coding tools to accelerate implementation and review outputs before production • Identify risks involving theme architecture, app scope, and Shopify constraints • Provide clear handoff notes, environment setup, and repository hygiene

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years building production Shopify themes and/or apps that went live • Portfolio or store list shows real launches, not only theme demos • Agency or consultancy experience preferred • Experience sitting on calls with founders or merchants, explaining trade-offs, and maintaining client trust while rejecting bad ideas • Fluency with Liquid, sections, snippets, JSON templates, metafields, and clean theme structure • Comfortable with Checkout Extensibility and/or Shopify Functions, or custom apps on the current Shopify app stack (Remix/Node or similar) • Hydrogen/headless experience is a plus, not a hard gate • Knowledge of performance, accessibility basics, responsive storefronts, and careful production deploys • Experience using Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI coding tools, with ability to review output for Shopify correctness • English at C1 or above • Availability through roughly 5 PM EST for live client coordination • Honest estimates, early blockers, finished commits, and reliable follow-through
