• Develop, maintain and enhance country- and site-level clinical budget benchmarks • Perform Budget vs Actual, budget-to-budget and forecast variance analysis • Analyze Cost Per Patient, fixed and variable site costs, pass-through costs and other major cost components • Conduct outlier identification, data quality assessment and benchmark reliability analysis • Develop scenario analyses and sensitivity assessments for country/site strategy, enrollment assumptions, protocol changes and study budget decisions • Translate analytical findings into negotiation and budget optimization opportunities • Convert complex clinical site budget data into concise decision-oriented insights • Identify cost drivers, trends, unusual variances, benchmark movements and financial risks • Develop recurring and ad hoc analytical views and provide data-driven recommendations • Design and maintain management dashboards, rate cards and analytical reports • Develop executive-ready PowerPoint slide decks, visualizations, charts and tables • Support integration and management of clinical site budget data across platforms, libraries, payment systems and other sources • Partner with Data Science, Digital Innovations, GTS and technology teams on requirements, data structures, interfaces, controls and outputs • Identify automation opportunities and support dashboards, real-time reporting and analytical tools using Power BI, advanced Excel and other technologies • Partner with Clinical Operations, Investigator Contracts Management, Global R&D Sourcing, Data Management, Finance and other stakeholders • Lead or contribute to strategic projects involving benchmarking, FMV analysis, negotiation strategy, forecasting, process simplification and operational efficiency • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities • Develop methodologies, guidance, templates and standard operating approaches • Provide training, coaching and analytical guidance • Support governance through documentation of assumptions, methodologies, data sources, limitations and conclusions • Lead team priorities, workload planning, deliverable quality and issue escalation where applicable • Coach team members and help define the longer-term analytics and technology roadmap
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, Master’s degree, Finance, Data Analytics or related advanced education preferred • Advanced knowledge Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Outlook; Smartsheet, SharePoint, MS Teams, Power BI • Demonstrated experience in clinical site budgeting, clinical finance, benchmarking, investigator payments / grants, clinical operations, R&D finance or a related pharmaceutical / biotech function • Strong analytical capability with demonstrated experience in interpreting large or complex datasets and converting data into meaningful business insights and recommendations • Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, study start-up, site contracting / negotiation and the major drivers of clinical site costs • Advanced Excel skills and strong PowerPoint skills • Experience with data visualization, dashboard development, KPI / metric design and management reporting • Demonstrated ability to develop executive-level PowerPoint presentations with strong data storytelling, visual communication and concise synthesis of complex information • Ability to assess data quality, analytical assumptions, benchmark reliability and limitations, and communicate analytical confidence appropriately • Strong project management, prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and compressed timelines • Strong communication, influencing, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills; comfortable working across global and cross-functional teams • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and comfortable operating in complex, fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environments • Travel: As Needed • Manager: typically 6+ years; Senior Manager: typically 8+ years in pharmaceutical / biotech / life sciences, clinical operations, clinical finance, site budgeting, analytics or related fields
