📋 Description

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and vehicle systems using 3D CAD software and engineering best practices • Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), GD&T, and technical documentation for production • Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and design analyses • Develop designs for manufacturability, maintainability, reliability, and cost • Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve design issues during prototype, production, and sustainment phases • Support prototype builds, design verification, qualification testing, and validation activities • Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, design optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives • Manage design changes and maintain configuration integrity throughout the product lifecycle • Ensure designs comply with Defence standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Australian Citizen is mandatory for this role • Experience in mechanical design using CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or Inventor • Experience producing manufacturing drawings, BOMs, GD&T, and engineering documentation • Experience designing mechanical components or assemblies for defence, automotive, or heavy vehicle applications • Experience supporting prototype development, design verification, and product testing • Experience working within a configuration-controlled product development environment • 12+ years of software engineering and platform delivery experience
