📋 Description

• Design and build the knowledge graph that represents structured content, its relationships, and its provenance. • Own the RAG retrieval pipeline end-to-end — chunking strategy, embeddings, hybrid retrieval, re-ranking, evaluation. • Drive measurable improvements in retrieval quality, hallucination rates, token economics, and latency. • Work directly with lighthouse customers to shape what "grounding" means in practice for enterprise AI deployments. • Contribute to the architectural foundations that the rest of Paligo's AI work will build on. • Partner with our CISO to keep what we build compliant with our security standards and data protection obligations.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years as a software engineer, with significant full-stack experience. • 2+ years shipping AI features to production — not just experiments. • Direct, hands-on experience building RAG systems and working with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval evaluation. • Familiarity with knowledge graphs, graph databases, or structured retrieval approaches — and the judgement to know when graph-based retrieval beats vector search, and when it doesn't. • Strong TypeScript, Python, backend, and cloud infrastructure skills (AWS preferred). • Containerization and infrastructure-as-code. • Familiarity with agentic workflows and MCP-style tool integration. • The product-sense to make good tradeoffs between retrieval quality, cost, and latency. • Professional fluency in English.
