• The Director - Provincial Partnerships - Indigenous Health is Shared Health’s primary guide and facilitator of ongoing dialogue and collaboration with First Nations, Inuit and Métis governments and provincial partners and organizations, including on a government-to-government basis. • Key responsibilities include guiding and coaching health system teams throughout Shared Health with identifying, developing, and nurturing productive partnerships to enable addressing Indigenous-identified health priorities, accreditation standards, and relevant legislation and guidance documents. • Leading with humility and a strong understanding of Indigenous health and wellness, the Provincial Partnership Director will work to ensure that Indigenous voices are actively integrated into decision-making processes and provincial clinical policies, programs, practices and services. • This position will support Indigenous-identified healthcare and self-determination priorities to collaboratively address, notably, jurisdictional challenges and solutions. • A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
• Seven years of experience in Indigenous, healthcare or government settings. • Experience in Manitoba’s public health care system and services. • Experience working with Indigenous governments, partners, organizations and communities, such as First Nations, Tribal Councils, Manitoba Inuit Association, Manitoba Métis Federation and urban Indigenous organizations. • Experience in or knowledge of Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and the relationship between ISC and the Manitoba health care system. • Understanding of applying the standards established by Accreditation Canada (AC) and the Health Standards Organization (HSO) from an Indigenous lens. • Experience with, or knowledge of, enabling health system leaders and teams with applying an Indigenous lens to health operations and exploring ways to provide culturally safe care and to offer traditional Indigenous healing practices as part of health services delivery. • Demonstrated experience in identifying key performance indicators and conducting comprehensive benefits analysis with respect to Indigenous health.
