📋 Description

• Serve as a core contributor on the platform with direct impact on customer and partner value globally • Own key features and architectural improvements end-to-end, from design through build • Collaborate with technically experienced teams and share ideas • Address complex business-critical challenges such as third-party extensibility and real-time multi-user synchronization • Define and evolve technical architecture and standards for safe, scalable, reusable capabilities • Act as a technical leader through design reviews, RFCs, and hands-on collaboration • Lead proof-of-concepts informing roadmap and architecture decisions • Partner with QA, Product, Security, and Domain SMEs on observability, reliability, and system quality • Establish engineering standards and best practices for consistency, security, and maintainability • Identify systemic risks and eliminate root causes affecting reliability, performance, or cost • Partner with DevOps and Security teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and production safeguards • Mentor senior and junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance • Participate in production support as a senior escalation point, lead root cause analysis, and drive preventative improvements • Champion responsible AI-assisted development across teams • Define standards and guardrails for AI-assisted and agentic tooling across the SDLC • Evaluate and pilot AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows • Mentor engineers on advanced AI-assisted development practices • Own feedback loops and metrics measuring AI-assisted development impact on velocity and quality

🎯 Requirements

• In-depth, extensive experience with server-side Java; subject matter expert on Java • Minimum of 8 years of experience with core Java • Experience with monolith applications and microservices • Experience with containerization and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes • Knowledge of NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB • Experience working in an agile team with developers, testers, and a product owner • Proven experience designing and evolving shared platforms or infrastructure used by multiple teams • Experience delivering cloud-native systems on AWS • Familiarity with scalability, reliability, security, and cost management • Solid software engineering fundamentals • Proven experience contributing to and owning important architectural decisions • Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical direction across teams • Strong initiative to improve processes, tools, methodologies, and product quality • Nice to have: Azure or Google Cloud experience • Nice to have: open-source contributions or a strong GitHub portfolio • Tech stack includes Java, AWS, CloudFormation, Terraform, SQL Server, AWS RDS SQL Server, New Relic, AWS CloudWatch, Jira, Visual Studio, GitHub, Devin, and Claude Code
