⢠Monitor donor and government pipelines, procurement portals, country strategies, sector priorities and networks ⢠Identify opportunities early and assess potential business development prospects ⢠Research clients, partners, markets and competitors and produce useful insights ⢠Collaborate with technical and program teams to understand problems and shape responses ⢠Support go/no-go decisions on opportunities ⢠Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, governments, consultants and organisations across the region ⢠Lead priority proposals from early positioning through submission ⢠Write, edit and shape complex technical content into clear, persuasive proposals ⢠Ensure submissions are compliant, polished, on-brand and submitted on time ⢠Develop capability statements, case studies, pitch decks and other business development content ⢠Improve business development processes, including use of AI and digital tools ⢠Report to the Catalpa Director and collaborate across the organisation ⢠Contribute to a healthier, strategically aligned pipeline, stronger early relationships, better pursuit decisions, excellent proposals and organisational knowledge
⢠Experience working with government, bilateral or multilateral development partners or other institutional clients ⢠Experience in international development and the Asia-Pacific ⢠Experience working with DFAT and/or MFAT opportunities is advantageous ⢠Around 5+ years of relevant experience across business development, partnerships, proposal development, international development or a related field ⢠Experience managing significant tenders, proposals or funding submissions ⢠Strong business development judgement ⢠Ability to write clear, persuasive proposals and shape technical content ⢠Ability to develop strategies, draft responses, edit technical content and interpret tender requirements ⢠Ability to build relationships and connect people and ideas ⢠Ability to understand both strategic positioning and detailed tender requirements ⢠Curiosity about clients, sectors and problems ⢠Ability to organise and manage complex proposals ⢠Comfort working with ambiguity and incomplete information ⢠Understanding of the commercial side of business development and social impact ⢠Strong cultural competency and demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse cultural contexts ⢠Relevant tertiary qualifications in international development, business, communications or public policy are useful but not essential ⢠Ability to comply with safeguarding policies, Code of Conduct and disclosure requirements regarding relevant charges or convictions ⢠Ability to undergo background checks
