• Lead the implementation and ongoing evolution of wellness initiatives supporting the Federal Indian Hospital Settlement • Ground wellness supports in Indigenous worldviews, cultural safety, and trauma-informed practices • Oversee the development and delivery of holistic wellness strategies that integrate Indigenous perspectives, healing-centered approaches, and culturally grounded practices into organizational culture and program delivery • Design and facilitate culturally grounded wellness initiatives, including workshops, sharing circles, and healing-centered supports • Provide guidance and support on complex wellness situations using trauma-informed and culturally safe approaches • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to integrate wellness practices across programs and organizational operations • Build and maintain culturally safe environments that support employee wellbeing and address systemic barriers • Engage with employees to identify wellness needs and translate feedback into actionable supports and programming • Monitor and evaluate wellness initiatives using culturally appropriate and community-informed approaches • Work collaboratively with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and internal stakeholders to strengthen wellness programming • Support organizational learning through training, coaching, and wellness-focused leadership guidance
• 7 years of experience developing and implementing wellness programs grounded in holistic and Indigenous approaches • Post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Health Promotion, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of lived and community experience • Strong knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and the impacts of intergenerational trauma • Demonstrated experience working within trauma-informed and healing-centered environments • Ability to create culturally safe and inclusive spaces that foster trust, respect, and relationship-building • Experience collaborating with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Indigenous communities in a professional setting • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment • Experience managing multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders simultaneously • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills • A thoughtful, relational, and empathetic approach to leadership and employee support • Training in trauma-informed practice, mental wellness, or vicarious trauma is considered an asset. • Knowledge of the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework and other Indigenous wellness models is considered an asset.
