📋 Description

• Lead the end-to-end design and development of scalable, high-performance client-side and server-side software • Provide technical leadership for a 5–7 engineer squad • Partner with the Engineering Manager and Product Manager on product and technical decisions • Write and review production code daily • Design and evolve APIs and ensure solutions are robust, maintainable and well tested • Collaborate with UX to build user interfaces and develop reliable APIs and services • Mentor and coach engineers at all levels • Design, deploy and operate cloud-native applications on AWS using Terraform, Kubernetes and containerised workloads • Champion automated testing, TDD and CI/CD • Participate in a five-stage interview process including recruiter screening, engineering manager discussion, take-home technical test, technical panel and architecture discussion

🎯 Requirements

• Experience as a Lead Engineer or Tech Lead, guiding a small team or squad to deliver high-quality software • Strong full-stack engineering skills • Experience designing, building and supporting robust REST and GraphQL APIs • Experience with databases underpinning APIs • Deep experience with automated testing and TDD using tools such as Jest and Pact • Ability to design, build, deploy and run systems end to end in the cloud without manual configuration • Collaborative leadership style and experience mentoring engineers and reviewing designs • Pragmatic problem-solving mindset • TypeScript, Node.js, React and strong JavaScript fundamentals • AWS, including EKS, Lambda and Aurora RDS • Kubernetes and container-oriented architectures • GraphQL, REST, Kafka, MongoDB and relational databases • Terraform, Helm and GitHub Actions • DataDog or similar observability tools • Git, Confluence and Jira
