📋 Description

• Lead the three Quality Engineers who report to you, including goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, and work reviews • Participate in feature specification before coding begins, challenging edge cases, failure modes, and testability of acceptance criteria • Curate shared testing skills, patterns, and guardrails for coding agents • Verify test quality using mutation testing • Review tests in pull requests and mentor developers on test efficacy • Feed lessons from missed issues back into shared skills, gates, and patterns • Perform exploratory testing and create missing tests, end-to-end flows, or test data when needed • Help integrate performance, security, and accessibility into quality practices • Assert accessibility against the live shared configuration • Use traces, benchmarks, reproduction scripts, mutation scores, flake rates, and production escapes to guide decisions • Identify pipeline and architectural failures and contribute to systemic solutions • Partner with product managers and engineers in cross-functional pods • Champion the user perspective and identify failure modes before development begins • Mentor engineers in TDD and code review standards

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of software testing experience in a commercial environment • 3+ years acting as a technical lead in QA teams • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent lifetime experience • Formal leadership experience, including performance management of a team • Experience in architectural and pipeline design to prevent systemic failures • Hands-on experience building with agentic tools and workflows • Experience with prompt engineering and LLM-based testing frameworks • Proficiency in performance, security, and accessibility testing • Experience with modern CI/CD platforms and DevOps best practices • Proficiency in JIRA or similar project management tools • Expertise with automation tools such as Cypress, Stryker, Allure, and PactumJS • Formal management experience including goal setting, coaching, and performance reviews • Expertise writing and refining instructions for AI coding agents • Ability to use mutation testing to ensure generated suites provide meaningful coverage • Experience with shift-left practices, TDD, code review standards, and pairing environments
