📋 Description

• Take ownership of Contabo Group’s network backbone • Build out and operate the new AI data centre • Take ownership of the Leaf-Spine architecture built on Arista EOS, BGP EVPN, and VXLAN • Drive the AI data centre from commissioning through stable production operations • Design, build, and operate complex network, server, and security systems • Maintain the existing LTG infrastructure reliably • Analyse and resolve network faults • Harden network security using scrubbers, firewalls, ACLs, and NAC • Monitor network traffic and infrastructure performance • Extrapolate relevant KPIs for management • Coordinate with external service providers and remote hands globally • Maintain network diagrams, runbooks, change logs, and system documentation • Collaborate with Platform Engineering on Cilium BGP peering, Kubernetes node network configuration, and IPAM • Act as the ongoing interface between NetOps and Platform Engineering • Work in a self-organising agile team owning problems from analysis through resolution • Grow infrastructure automation, DDoS mitigation with Nokia Deepfield, observability, and BGP EVPN fabric engineering • Participate in national and international projects • Report directly to the Head of Network • Serve as the permanent owner of networking-related matters across Contabo Group

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with complex, scalable networks and fabric infrastructures on Cisco and/or Arista • Experience with Leaf-Spine and BGP EVPN VXLAN • Strong expertise in WAN connectivity, data centre peering, uplink management, VPN, and IPv6 • Strong expertise in security administration and DDoS mitigation, including tools such as Nokia Deepfield and Aurologic • Monitoring experience with Grafana, Check_MK, or Zabbix • Scripting and automation skills with Ansible, Terraform, Python, or similar • Experience with Network Access Control solutions, BGP Flowspec, Proxmox virtualization, and IPAM systems such as NetBox • Basic understanding of Kubernetes networking • Strong analytical and strategic thinking • Clear, confident communication skills • Results-driven, hands-on mindset with customer orientation and composure under pressure • Team spirit, reliability, and ability to work independently without micromanagement • Strong conflict-handling skills and cross-team relationship building • Openness to change • Arista certification or equivalent Cisco knowledge (ideally) • Completed IT apprenticeship or equivalent (ideally) • German language skills alongside excellent English (ideally)
