📋 Description

• Develop complex suppliers and products that meet customer requirements through product-specific quality and technical expertise. • Build relationships with external suppliers, customers, and internal Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Engineering stakeholders. • Support external supply-base strategies and supplier selection for components. • Coach and mentor Supplier and Cummins professionals on relationship building, APQP execution, auditing, problem resolution, and quality improvement. • Provide manufacturing consultation to suppliers to design Right First Time processes conforming to engineering prints, standards, and customer requirements. • Apply APQP, AIAG tools, and Cummins specialty tools to develop zero-defect components. • Lead complex product- and process-focused continuous-improvement projects using lean and Six Sigma methodologies. • Conduct supplier audits for risk mitigation, supplier readiness, and performance improvement. • Lead complex supplier quality improvement plans. • Lead root-cause analysis, support corrective-action development, and verify corrective-action effectiveness. • Facilitate cross-functional quality plans and supplier project execution. • Evaluate supplier product design, manufacturing process design, and validation processes for reliability.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline. • Typically 8 or more years of relevant experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, or Supplier Development. • Strong knowledge of supplier quality systems and core quality tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, Process Capability, 7Step/8D, and Root Cause Analysis. • Knowledge of forging, machining, grinding, heat treatment, gear manufacturing, surface treatment, and metallurgical inspection. • Demonstrated ability to assess supplier manufacturing capability and identify technical risks. • Experience leading supplier development, new product introduction, localization, or source-change projects. • Strong project management skills, including milestone management, risk management, action tracking, and stakeholder coordination. • Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and decision-making capability. • Good written and spoken English, with the ability to lead technical meetings and communicate with global stakeholders. • Ability and willingness to travel to supplier and manufacturing locations based on business needs. • Experience with relevant manufacturing categories such as crankshafts, engine bearings, bushings, bearing interfaces, timing gears, power-transmission gears, or other precision-machined engine components is preferred. • Experience supporting diesel engines, HHP engine, power systems, heavy-duty equipment, or industrial manufacturing is preferred. • Knowledge of GD&T, engineering standards, manufacturing process design and validation, measurement process design, ISO 9001:2015, and IATF 16949. • A position-related license may be required for export-control or sanctions compliance.
