📋 Description

• Shape and communicate a company-wide design vision for Customer.io's product • Drive the strategic direction of Pluma, Customer.io's design system, including architecture, evolution, deprecation decisions, and scaling principles • Close the gap between design intent and shipped product by staying close to implementation and fixing divergence directly when code is appropriate • Design CLI-native flows, API-first onboarding, and interfaces for builder and developer audiences • Lead the design of agentic and human-AI surfaces across the product • Partner with product and engineering leadership on product strategy • Develop and advocate for Customer.io's AI product design philosophy • Lead design reviews for major initiatives and ensure quality and coherence • Develop Staff designers through mentorship and critique • Contribute to hiring and calibration

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience • Portfolio demonstrating design vision and organizational impact • Track record of shaping design direction at the company level • Experience designing for developer and builder audiences, including CLI, API-first onboarding, or infrastructure-native products • Developed point of view on AI and agentic product design • Shipped AI-native interfaces and ability to articulate interaction-model philosophy for agentic and delegated use • Strategic-level contribution to a design system • Ability to influence product, engineering, and executive leadership without authority or a management title • Track record of raising the craft bar organizationally through critique culture, standards, and example • Executive-level communication connecting design decisions to customer impact, product differentiation, and business outcomes • B2B SaaS depth and understanding of complex, data-heavy products • Successful completion of background check and employment verifications
