📋 Description

• Design, develop, and operate reliable, scalable APIs and services in Python with Django and Django REST Framework • Lead architectural changes involving data modeling, service boundaries, messaging patterns, and zero-downtime migrations • Collaborate with DevOps on pipelines and infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform • Promote trunk-based development and deployment safety • Write and maintain unit and integration tests • Collaborate with Frontend, Mobile, UX, and Product teams to shape solutions and negotiate APIs • Mentor engineers through structured feedback, pairing, and design reviews • Contribute to chapter knowledge sharing through talks and documentation

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level Python with Django and Django REST Framework • Strong understanding of RESTful API design and versioning • Strong SQL and PostgreSQL expertise, including performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and schema evolution • Experience building resilient asynchronous systems using Celery and message brokers such as RabbitMQ • Practical caching strategies with Redis, including eviction policies and cache-aside patterns • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitHub Actions • Experience with canary deployments and feature flags • Product-focused observability with SLIs/SLOs, actionable alerts, and trace-to-log correlation • Profiling, tracing, instrumentation, documentation, and regression testing • Data-driven problem-solving and decision-making • Proactive approach to anticipating challenges and suggesting improvements • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across design, product, and engineering teams
