📋 Description

• Lead an engineering team, owning delivery and team development • Drive continuous improvement through fast iterations and measurable improvements • Support team members’ professional well-being and career development through 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and candid feedback • Develop future tech leads, engineering managers, and staff-level individual contributors • Write, review, and maintain code at a senior level • Drive architectural and technical design decisions with senior individual contributors • Uphold engineering standards through pull-request reviews and a healthy release process • Lead an AI-augmented engineering team while maintaining quality standards • Own team commitments, planning, prioritization, and delivery • Partner with Technical Product Owners and Product teams on scope, sequencing, tradeoffs, and roadmap • Align engineering work with broader business objectives • Re-plan, re-prioritize, and re-staff as business needs change • Own hiring, interviewing, recruiting, coaching, and performance decisions for the team • Mentor peer engineering managers and strengthen the management bench • Communicate clearly with leadership and prioritize escalations • Empower senior engineers and coach team members • Partner with Product, Design, GTM, Customer Success, and other teams for cross-team alignment

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management roles where you actively coded as part of your responsibilities • Hands-on experience building cloud-based SaaS products and running services in production for Azure; ideally additionally on AWS/GCP • Experience owning availability, cost, and the customer-facing surface of production services • Strong background understanding and leading teams in the FinOps space • API-first mindset and experience building products available through APIs • Strong background in engineering management of multidisciplinary teams, including full-stack and data engineers • Track record of visibly transforming engineering teams with measurable improvements in delivery velocity, technical quality, or team caliber • Deep technical fluency in the team’s primary stack, including reading, writing, and reviewing code at a senior level • Clear philosophy on hiring, coaching, performance management, and technical decision-making • Excellent judgment under pressure • Direct, candid communication skills • Strong Golang knowledge or experience • Established AI-augmented workflow and experience applying AI tools and agentic workflows • Hands-on experience with more than one cloud provider • Experience scaling teams, processes, or technical systems as the organization grows
