📋 Description

• Support data-driven decision-making through data validation, database maintenance, applied research, product development, and multi-stakeholder communications • Collect, clean, and validate farm datasets from internal sources • Identify and flag data inconsistencies, gaps, and anomalies, and implement corrective procedures • Update environmental and sustainability metrics, including GHG emission factors, against recognised reference databases such as ecoinvent and IPCC • Maintain quality standards aligned with relevant ISO and GHG Protocol frameworks • Support corporate carbon footprint calculations and data quality reviews • Maintain commodity-level environmental databases covering carbon intensity, water footprint, and land use • Document data sources, methodology assumptions, and version histories • Support new data-stream integration and migration of legacy datasets • Conduct literature reviews and landscape analyses on climate regulations, carbon markets, sustainability standards, and agro-food sector trends • Research and support development of a climate resilience score and its integration into ECOM's Green Meter commodity carbon calculator • Contribute to climate and nature scoring tools, carbon labelling frameworks, and supplier assessment methodologies • Support development of a platform producing country-level carbon footprint reports and recommendations • Provide climate data to client-facing tools and dashboards • Draft methodological notes, technical annexes, and supporting documentation • Participate in pilot testing and validation of analytical models with internal stakeholders and selected clients • Translate complex agronomic and climate science concepts into accessible content • Create and deliver content for internal and external newsletters and learning and engagement channels

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Studies, or a closely related field • Solid grounding in agronomy or natural sciences • Solid understanding of agronomy and agricultural production systems (crop physiology, soil science, farming practices) • Familiarity with GHG accounting principles and carbon footprint methodologies (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064/14067, PAS 2050) • Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (Excel, Power BI) is required • Basic knowledge of food and agricultural supply chains and associated sustainability challenges • Full professional proficiency in English, French, and Spanish — written and spoken — is mandatory • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail • Collaborative, pro-active and innovative • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks under deadlines • Clear, concise written and oral communication skills • Hands-on experience with carbon footprint analysis, scientific climate research and the development of tools is preferred • Familiarity with sustainability standards (Rainforest Alliance, EU regulations, ISO 14064) is preferred • Knowledge of remote sensing tools, geospatial analysis (QGIS, ArcGIS), or crop monitoring platforms is preferred • Experience with Python, R, or SQL is a plus
