• Lead and manage a portfolio of literacy-focused projects, including scoping, budgeting, staffing, risk management, financial monitoring, quality assurance, delivery, and closeout. • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to schools, districts, state education agencies, and partners to strengthen coherent literacy systems, including curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional learning, and implementation support. • Guide teams in developing and implementing evidence-based literacy interventions and improvement strategies grounded in reading, writing, language, adolescent literacy, and supports for multilingual learners. • Collaborate with clients and partners to assess needs, analyze data and evidence, develop theories of action and improvement plans, and monitor implementation, outcomes, and sustainability. • Design and deliver professional learning, coaching, consultation, communities of practice, convenings, and other learning experiences for educators and education leaders. • Oversee reports, presentations, tools, professional learning materials, and other client-facing products to ensure they are accurate, actionable, equitable, and responsive to client needs. • Build relationships with education leaders, policymakers, funders, researchers, preparation programs, and community organizations; represent Education Northwest through presentations, publications, and externally facing products. • Lead and contribute to business development, including opportunity pipelines, strategic partnerships, proposals, grant writing, client presentations, networking, and new products or services that address emerging literacy needs. • Mentor project teams and collaborate across multifunctional teams to strengthen project management, client engagement, quality, equity-centered practice, feedback, and coordinated delivery of consulting services.
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based literacy instruction and development across the K-12 continuum, including reading, writing, language, adolescent literacy, multilingual learners, and culturally responsive and sustaining practices. • Deep knowledge of literacy systems, including curriculum, instruction, assessment, intervention, professional learning, instructional coaching, implementation, continuous improvement, scale, and sustainability. • Experience designing, implementing, improving, and assessing literacy programs or initiatives at the state, district, school, or classroom level, using data and evidence to guide decisions and improve outcomes. • Strong project and portfolio management skills, including scoping, budgeting, directing teams, managing complex or multi-year projects, and ensuring high-quality client-centered deliverables. • Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, consultation, relationship-building, and partnership skills with diverse education partners, including schools and districts, agencies, postsecondary institutions, policymakers, funders, and community organizations. • Demonstrated success in business development, including cultivating networks and partnerships and contributing to or leading competitive proposals, grant applications, and sole-source opportunities. • Advanced degree and seven or more years of relevant experience in education, technical assistance, consulting, or professional services setting preferred. • Experience as a K-12 educator, instructional coach, literacy leader, or building, district, or state education leader preferred. • Lived and/or professional experience in culturally, linguistically, and diverse environments and experience collaborating with philanthropic clients or funders preferred.
