📋 Description

• Drive business and security innovation and contribute to the evolution of Empower’s security architecture and functions • Provide guidance for the enterprise technology environment to mature the company’s security posture • Develop and standardize security architecture • Perform security assessments and review system designs for security considerations • Advise stakeholders and service owners on risk management and balancing security with business requirements • Provide thought leadership and security subject matter expertise across technologies and business initiatives • Define standards, guardrails, and secure design patterns • Perform risk-based threat-modeling assessments of vendor and open-source technologies • Partner with Enterprise Architecture and technology teams to create secure designs that meet security requirements and business objectives • Participate in emerging technology proof-of-concepts and pilot projects while maintaining security obligations and good practices • Develop relationships, repeatable processes, and resources to support security champions • Perform threat modeling to substantiate recommendations and designs • Participate in developing and maintaining security policies, standards, and reference materials • Review and contribute to infrastructure-as-code representations of architecture designs or changes

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience designing and building secure cloud-native solutions, especially in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams • Ability to partner with multiple stakeholders to derive accurate threat models and reduce information security risk • Demonstrable experience with and passion for emerging technologies • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles and experience reviewing infrastructure configurations/changes, such as CloudFormation and Terraform • Strong technical foundations in modern application/microservice architectures and related technologies, including Containers, Kubernetes, Service Mesh, RESTful/gRPC APIs • Understanding of CI/CD and Secure Development processes and tools, including Jenkins and Git • Strong foundation in cybersecurity, especially identity and access management, network access control, and secure configuration management • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience • Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework or Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework • Familiarity with scrum project management tools, such as Jira • Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Cloud Practitioner, CCSP, Certified Secure Software Engineer, SANS/GIAC Certificates, or CISSP • Experience working in Financial Services or FinTech space
