📋 Description

• Own Facelove's finances, including the close, cash, and decision-support numbers • Run full monthly close on a fixed calendar • Perform bank, payment processor, and intercompany reconciliations • Maintain the chart of accounts, accrual policy, documentation, and audit trail • Build and maintain a 13-week rolling cash forecast • Report weekly cash position, runway, and early warnings • Manage working capital, inventory purchase timing, supplier terms, and processor payout cycles • Build the annual budget and quarterly reforecast with the founders • Produce contribution margin reporting by channel, product, and cohort • Analyze CAC, MER, AOV, LTV, and payback in partnership with paid media • Calculate landed cost per unit and true gross margin • Manage inventory accounting, COGS accuracy, standard costs, and variance analysis • Reconcile inventory against 3PL reporting, including shrinkage and damages • Flag stock and cash risk on reorders • Manage revenue recognition across Shopify and payment methods • Reconcile processor fees, holds, reserves, and payout timing • Track refunds, chargebacks, and disputes as cost lines • Report subscription and repeat revenue as the business develops • Run monthly payments for contractors across multiple countries and currencies • Maintain contractor documentation and compliance records • Manage accounts payable and vendor terms • Work with HR on payroll verification • Manage Dutch statutory obligations for ODAQ B.V. with external accountants • Handle VAT filings and multi-currency treatment • Manage US sales tax nexus and registrations as the footprint expands • Produce monthly reporting packs, weekly one-page views of cash, spend, and margin, and ad hoc analysis • Diagnose unreliable or missing finance processes within the first 30 days • Establish timely monthly close, contribution margin reporting, and documented payment cycles within 60 days • Make finance run through the role rather than the founders within 90 days

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in accounting or finance, including at least 2 years in ecommerce, DTC, or consumer products • Owned a monthly close independently • Inventory and COGS accounting experience, including landed cost • Multi-currency and multi-entity experience, including FX and intercompany • Strong modelling ability in Excel or Google Sheets • Fluency with Shopify or a comparable ecommerce platform, payment processors, and cloud accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Exact • Ability to explain variances clearly to non-finance founders • Excellent written English • Judgement to escalate issues in writing before they become urgent • Experience with a Netherlands-registered entity or comfort with Dutch statutory requirements and external accountants • US sales tax nexus and multi-state registration experience • Beauty, skincare, or supplements experience • Experience in high paid-media environments • 3PL and inventory planning exposure • CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA, or local equivalent • Experience as a first finance hire building a function from a messy starting point
