📋 Description

• Represent Computational Chemistry as the subject matter expert for nonclinical research and development • Independently pursue research projects and implement novel computational workflows • Support a multidisciplinary team moving projects from hit identification to discovery of clinical candidates • Contribute to development, implementation, and utilization of computational software, computer-aided drug design, and simulation techniques • Analyze, interpret, integrate, and report research informatics data generated by internal teams and external clients • Partner with medicinal chemistry teams during lead optimization, including docking and molecule scoring for rational drug design • Apply or develop tools and data-mining techniques for integrative analysis and visualization of large datasets • Participate in data governance objectives with IT and laboratory teams • Provide transparent, regular communication on project status, execution roadblocks, and new strategies to Drug Discovery Chemistry leadership • Own accountability and responsibility for delivering client needs on time • Provide cross-functional support to other departments as required • Promote computational sciences as an integral part of hit-finding campaigns and ML/AI-supported drug discovery • Work closely with DiscoveryAI to support or lead wider Eurofins AI-based initiatives • Oversee and lead scientific data governance, analytical tool development, computational chemistry methods development, and meta-analyses of internal and external data

🎯 Requirements

• Proven track record of impact in drug discovery projects, including contribution to lead identification/optimization or progression of compounds into development • Strong understanding of medicinal chemistry principles • Ability to translate computational insights into actionable design hypotheses • Experience with ligand-based design approaches, including QSAR, similarity searching, and conformational analysis • Knowledge of free energy methods, including FEP and MM-GBSA, and their practical application and limitations • Experience handling and curating large chemical and biological datasets, including data quality, standardization, and reproducibility • Familiarity with modern AI/ML approaches in drug discovery, including deep learning and generative models • Ability to design, validate, and benchmark computational workflows • Strong statistical thinking and understanding of uncertainty, validation strategies, and model performance metrics • Experience working in cross-functional teams including medicinal chemistry, biology, and DMPK • Ability to communicate results to non-experts • Good software engineering practices, including version control, reproducible pipelines, and documentation • Exposure to ADMET prediction tools and integration into design cycles • Ability to critically assess experimental data, including SAR and assay variability, and integrate it into modeling efforts • Leadership or mentoring experience • Strategic thinking in selecting and deploying computational, AI, and ML approaches aligned with project goals • Proven ability to successfully influence cross-functionally and serve as a technical expert in computational sciences applied to drug development • Willingness and ability to travel to other Eurofins facilities • Availability to work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed
