📋 Description

• Define and lead high-impact architectural decisions, considering scale, performance, resilience, and sustainability • Work cross-functionally across teams to ensure technical consistency • Investigate complex technical issues, identify root causes, and lead structured resolutions • Propose technical improvements to increase the quality, reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of systems • Respond to critical incidents, contributing to system diagnosis, mitigation, resolution, and evolution • Influence technology strategy in partnership with leadership • Raise technical standards through mentoring and best practices • Define and evolve engineering standards for architecture, quality, observability, and security • Work with SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs • Promote a data-driven culture and continuous improvement • Foster innovation, experimentation, and the strategic use of AI • Build solutions to complex technical problems as the primary technical authority • Connect architectural decisions to the company’s product objectives and OKRs • Participate in cross-functional technical communities, Staff Engineer forums, RFCs, and ADRs • Connect teams and business units, preventing silos and duplicated effort

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience in backend development • Extensive experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems • Experience with messaging and event-driven systems • Experience with APIs such as REST, GraphQL, or RPC • Experience with high-scale production systems • Knowledge of software testing and quality practices • Knowledge of system observability and monitoring • Knowledge of API security • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar • Knowledge of CI/CD • Ability to influence technical and business decisions • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Ability to determine what should be delegated to AI versus what requires human judgment • Define objectives and context before writing any prompt • Design contracts and interfaces before generating code with AI • Predefine what AI must not generate • Critically evaluate AI outputs, ensuring quality and alignment • Nice to have: experience with Node.js and TypeScript, NestJS, Kafka, and MongoDB; knowledge of functional programming languages and Grafana; experience in fraud prevention and/or risk management
