📋 Description

• Design and build REST/OpenAPI backend APIs to provision and manage GKE namespaces and clusters • Develop platform automation using custom Kubernetes controllers/operators in Go and backend microservices in Java/Spring Boot or Node.js • Integrate APIs with Red Hat Developer Hub/Backstage software templates, scaffolder actions, and backend plugins • Publish and secure APIs through an API gateway such as Apigee using SSO, OAuth2, and JWT validation • Onboard and support application teams migrating workloads to the GKE platform • Identify developer pain points and shape a frictionless self-service platform experience • Build and maintain Kubernetes deployment artifacts and Helm charts • Contribute to GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, container image publishing, and artifact management • Instrument services and build Dynatrace dashboards and alerts • Work with Cloud Service Mesh/Istio for mTLS, traffic management, and resilient inter-service communication • Participate in platform on-call rotation, production support, incident response, root-cause analysis, and remediation • Expose platform APIs as MCP servers and integrate them with Gemini Enterprise for AI-assisted developer workflows • Collaborate with platform, security, and application teams; document solutions and mentor where appropriate

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent • 8–10 years of overall experience • 4–6 years of relevant experience in backend development, APIs, Kubernetes, GitOps, and AWS or GCP • Strong hands-on software development experience in Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, or Go • Experience building production microservices and secure REST APIs • Knowledge of Spring Boot/Spring Cloud or equivalent Node.js/Go frameworks • Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger, API integration, API gateways, OAuth2, JWT tokens, and SSO • Experience authoring Kubernetes manifests and deploying microservices to managed GKE/EKS clusters • Experience with Docker and Helm • Experience automating platform or infrastructure workflows through custom controllers/operators or backend services • Experience with Argo CD GitOps, Jenkins or GitHub Actions, container image build/push, and artifact repositories • Experience onboarding or supporting application teams on a shared platform • Experience with Dynatrace or similar observability tools, production support, and on-call incident handling • Working knowledge of GCP and/or AWS, including IAM, service accounts, and Workload Identity • Agile delivery, ownership from design through production support, collaboration, and clear communication • Willingness to learn or experience with Go/Kubebuilder/controller-runtime, TypeScript/Node.js, Backstage, service mesh, GKE networking, agentic AI/MCP, and AI-assisted development tools
