📋 Description

• Develop the Foundation’s approach and overarching strategy for AI and health • Assess applications of AI in diagnostics, end-user engagement, decision support, and health decision sciences • Identify ecosystem constraints, opportunities, partners, and stakeholders across technical, advocacy, government, academic, and funding spheres • Develop benchmarks and evaluation frameworks for AI accuracy, safety, usability, and cost-effectiveness • Map pathways for health technologies from proof of concept to minimum viable product and sustainable scale • Lead the design and execution of clinical trials for healthcare decision-support tools • Manage a portfolio of AI and health investments • Support studies on AI tool effectiveness, safety, and regulatory strategies • Prepare background documents, briefs, and presentations for stakeholders • Provide technical guidance, review proposals, and co-own investments with program teams • Align investments with strategies and needs-based approaches • Advocate for safe and responsible AI use to reduce health inequality in low- and middle-income countries

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree in computer science, data science, public health, or related field with 10+ years of experience; or equivalent experience • Significant experience (10+ years) in health and technology development/application • Experience supporting development, testing, launch, or scale-up of AI-based technology • Demonstrated conceptual understanding of AI • Experience with governments, Ministries of Health, NGOs, academic institutions, and global funders, particularly in the global South • Experience in technology assessment and product development is an advantage • Knowledge of the AI landscape and digital health, particularly in Africa, India, and Latin America, is an advantage • Must be legally able to work in the country where the position is located without visa sponsorship • Strong program and/or project management skills and experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Successful completion of a background check
