📋 Description

• Review and accurately code acute care inpatient medical records. • Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes in accordance with Official Coding Guidelines, UHDDS, CMS, and payer requirements. • Accurately assign MS-DRGs, Present on Admission (POA) indicators, discharge disposition, and quality-related data elements. • Analyze physician documentation to ensure complete and compliant code assignment. • Identify documentation opportunities and collaborate with Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) teams when appropriate. • Maintain productivity and coding quality standards while meeting established turnaround times. • Stay current on coding regulations, payer updates, and industry best practices.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of recent acute care inpatient facility coding experience • Strong understanding of: ICD-10-CM • ICD-10-PCS • MS-DRG assignment • POA indicators • UHDDS reporting requirements • CMS and payer-specific coding guidelines • Required Systems Experience: Epic, 3M Encoder • Required Certifications: AHIMA/AAPC; One of the following credentials is required: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)
