📋 Description

• Design, prototype, and evaluate novel algorithms for medical image reconstruction and analysis • Lead independent research initiatives while collaborating with clinical, engineering, and product teams • Apply physics-based modeling, numerical optimization, and statistical methods to complex imaging problems • Develop high-quality, production-oriented code to validate and demonstrate research concepts • Drive innovation beyond established methods and contribute new approaches to the field • Communicate results through internal presentations, technical documentation, and external publications • Stay current with academic and industry advances and incorporate relevant techniques into research efforts • Contribute to next-generation medical imaging algorithms, especially quantitative nuclear medicine and 3D reconstruction methods

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in biomedical engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field • Strong background in medical imaging algorithms, particularly PET, SPECT, CT, or related modalities • Experience with image reconstruction techniques • Foundation in numerical methods, inverse problems, and statistical modeling • Ability to lead and execute independent research projects • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or similar scientific programming environments • Expertise in Monte Carlo simulation and physics-based modeling • Experience with nuclear medicine or quantitative radiopharmaceutical imaging physics or reconstruction • Familiarity with machine learning / AI methods applied to imaging • Ability to develop and deploy algorithms in a product or translational research setting • Publication record in peer-reviewed journals or conferences • Experience mentoring or technically leading other researchers • Legally authorized to work in the United States; GE HealthCare will not sponsor employment visas • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
