• Plan and execute the commissioning of protection systems for hydro generators and associated equipment. • Perform parameterization, testing, and validation of digital relays and IEDs using secondary current and voltage injection. • Validate protection logic, cause-and-effect matrices, trip circuits, alarms, and interlocks. • Conduct end-to-end integration testing between protection, control, automation, and excitation systems. • Monitor protection behavior during first rotation, synchronization, and load rejection tests. • Analyze sequence-of-events (SOE) records and oscillography to ensure system integrity. • Verify CT and PT circuits, ensuring connection and polarity compliance. • Prepare procedures and technical reports, and support Engineering in correcting design faults or inconsistencies.
• Technical or higher education in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Automation, or Electrical Engineering. • Previous experience commissioning protection systems in hydroelectric power plants. • Technical knowledge of digital relays, IEDs, and secondary injection test equipment. • Knowledge of protection functions for generators, transformers, and auxiliary systems. • Intermediate English proficiency. • Basic Spanish is a plus. • Full availability for travel and extended assignments or relocation in Latin American countries.
