📋 Description

• Perform installation and commissioning on drive systems, power systems, automation systems or dynamic positioning systems at customer site locations during ship construction. • Performs troubleshooting activities at site locations during scheduled Port visits or at sea to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions. • Performs a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of our equipment. • Develop documentation to execute work such as commissioning and maintenance procedures, as well as execute customer training. • Execute on site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction. • Identify sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades. • Provide on call support in response to customer calls for service. • Assist in the growth and direction of the North American business. • Complete timely service reports and other administrative requirements. • Perform work on-board vessels within GE / Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore. Extended hours / overtime maybe required during peak periods and emergency circumstances. • Domestic or overseas travel to customer sites for extended periods of time.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university. • OR Associate's Degree or related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum 5 additional years of related industry experience. • OR High School diploma or GED equivalency with a minimum of 8 years of related industry experience. • Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time​ on short notice. • US Person with the ability to achieve security clearance for Department of Defense projects. • Previous Marine Industry Experience. • Must be physically fit to be able to board vessels offshore. • For field service engineers that have the potential of working offshore, must be able to pass a Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) and offshore survival course which includes activities in a swimming pool. • Possesses leadership qualities that align with GE Vernova Way. • Background in a customer facing position within a Service environment. • Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office applications.
