📋 Description

• Own features end-to-end, including the user interface, from discovery with the grant team through production • Turn ambiguous business problems into clear technical plans and ship first versions quickly • Advance the AI pipeline through prompt engineering, context management, cost control, and multi-provider setup using AWS Bedrock, Anthropic, and OpenAI • Build and own AI evaluation practices for prompt quality, model selection, and regression detection • Operate, monitor, and debug the live production environment using Sentry, CloudWatch, and PostgreSQL performance tools • Make architecture decisions and shape code quality, engineering standards, and the technical roadmap • Build usable interfaces for grant writers • Shorten the time from starting a new project to a finished, submitted application through features, reliability, and automation • Work directly with the founders and closely with the grant-writing team

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years working in a senior engineering role • Track record of owning products or major features end-to-end • Start-up or scale-up experience • Several years of professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js • Solid PostgreSQL depth, including JSONB, query performance, and migrations • Experience with Next.js / React Query on the frontend • Experience with Express and BullMQ on the backend • Experience with AWS infrastructure, including ECS and RDS • Hands-on experience building and running AI pipelines in production • Experience beyond simply calling an AI API • Familiarity with AI-native tools such as Claude Code or Cursor • Clear written and spoken English • Ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical colleagues • High ownership and ability to work without detailed direction • German at B1 level or above is a plus, not a requirement • Experience with AI agents and tool-calling workflows in production is a plus • Experience with Terraform is a plus
