📋 Description

• Design and integrate innovative sensor cleaning systems for various autonomous vehicle sensors (e.g., LiDAR, radar, cameras). • Define system requirements and specifications, considering factors like fluid management, power consumption, and durability. • Conduct feasibility studies and trade-off analyses for different cleaning technologies. • Contribute to the mechanical design and packaging of vehicle components, ensuring they are manufacturable and durable. • Assist in troubleshooting any dimensional issues in vehicle designs and builds. • Review and recommend assembly processes for components, focusing on controlling variation and improving processes. • Plan, develop, and execute reliability and performance tests for sensor cleaning systems, including environmental stress, durability, and real-world condition testing. • Analyze test data to evaluate system effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. • Troubleshoot and debug issues related to sensor contamination and cleaning system failures. • Collaborate with hardware, software, and perception software engineers to ensure seamless integration and validation of cleaning systems. • Work with suppliers to source and validate components. • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in sensor cleaning technologies and other mechanical engineering disciplines.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in product development, with a focus on mechatronics, fluid dynamics, or mechanical systems. • Proven experience in designing and validating complex mechanical or electromechanical systems. • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, material science, and their application in cleaning systems. • Experience with a variety of sensors used in autonomous systems (LiDAR, radar, cameras). • Proficiency in CAD software, with CATIA preferred. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. • (Preferred) Experience in the automotive industry, particularly with autonomous vehicles or ADAS. • (Preferred) Familiarity with automotive quality standards (e.g., ISO 26262, AEC-Q100/200). • (Preferred) Knowledge of different types of environmental contaminants and their effects on sensor performance. • (Preferred) Experience with physics-of-failure and reliability modeling. • (Preferred) Experience with CAE/FEA and CFD. • (Preferred) Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience.
