📋 Description

• Support the DESTINY application team by optimizing database queries, stored procedures, packages, and triggers. • Work closely with developers to integrate enhancements, fixes, and new functionalities aligned with business needs. • Ensure application releases and data model changes are synchronized with database environments. • Maintain data integrity through robust data validation, referential integrity, and error-handling practices. • Enforce database security standards, user access controls, and audit requirements consistent with DC government policies. • Support compliance with privacy and data protection rules applicable to DMV‐related personal information. • Use DB2 monitoring tools to proactively identify performance bottlenecks. • Analyze SQL performance, query execution plans, and recommend optimizations. • Tune databases, memory pools, indexes, and storage structures for improved system throughput. • Support ongoing fixes, enhancements, and modernization efforts related to the DESTINY system. • Collaborate with OCTO infrastructure teams on server performance, storage, and network connectivity affecting DB2. • Implement schema modifications, table restructuring, indexing strategies, and partitioning as required. • Provides technical knowledge and support to District agencies, personnel, and additional stakeholders. • Performs other related duties as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of strong hands‐on experience with IBM DB2 (LUW or z/OS depending on environment). • Expertise in database design, data modeling, schema management, and SQL optimization. • Knowledge of high‐availability technologies (HADR, replication ,failover, clustering). • Experience supporting complex, transactional, high‐volume systems(government or DMV systems ideal). • Familiarity with ETL processes, Data Mining, Data Storage, Data warehousing • Knowledge of IBM batch jobs, and integration with enterprise applications. • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and performance tuning skills.
