📋 Description

• Lead multiple Phone Core squads comprising 10+ engineers across CPaaS, Phone Billing, Trust & Compliance, and phone number provisioning • Own high-level architecture and scaling decisions for core Phone platform components, including CPaaS abstractions, provider adapters, and shared messaging/voice APIs • Own Phone Billing end to end, including usage metering, rating, reserve/commit lifecycle, idempotency, reconciliation, and audit trails • Evolve Trust & Compliance systems into configuration-driven, rules-based platforms adapting to regulatory and carrier requirements • Lead initiatives improving reliability, latency, and throughput across high-concurrency APIs and workflows • Drive observability and resilience through monitoring, alerting, and incident-response strategies • Use LLMs and AI tools to write, refactor, test, and debug code while implementing reliability guardrails • Partner with product, infrastructure, security, finance, and legal teams on data integrity, access control, and compliance • Develop engineering managers and senior engineers, build leadership pipelines, plan succession, and raise hiring standards • Participate in design reviews, technical deep dives, and on-call rotations • Own multiple teams and products, establish the engineering system, and set technical direction

🎯 Requirements

• 9+ years of backend engineering experience and 2+ years of leadership experience • Proven record designing fault-tolerant systems operating at billions of hits or events • Deep expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous job processing • Experience building transactional systems involving metering, ledgers, billing, payments, idempotency, exactly-once semantics, and reconciliation • Experience optimizing availability, performance, and reliability under load • Strong experience with relational and NoSQL data models, especially complex transactional data • Experience designing policy- or rules-driven systems that evolve with external requirements • Familiarity with monitoring, SLOs, and root-cause analysis in production • Familiarity with hallucination mitigation strategies, including code constraints, test scaffolding, embeddings, and context injection • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with Finance, Legal, and external partners • Pragmatic, hands-on leadership balancing long-term vision with iterative execution
