📋 Description

• Design, deploy, and administer PostgreSQL databases supporting cloud-native applications and microservices. • Manage Azure Database for PostgreSQL (Flexible Server and Hyperscale/Citus), ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery. • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance for mission-critical production environments. • Lead database modernization initiatives, including migrations from on-premises and legacy platforms to Azure. • Partner with Platform Engineering, DevOps, and SRE teams to enable automated deployments and infrastructure best practices. • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, security, and compliance strategies. • Build automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep) and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. • Establish monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices for PostgreSQL platforms. • Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers on PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and database best practices.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience administering PostgreSQL databases in enterprise production environments. • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, replication, backup & recovery, security, and high availability. • Hands-on experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL (Flexible Server and/or Hyperscale/Citus). • Experience supporting cloud-native applications running in Azure. • Strong troubleshooting skills across database and infrastructure layers. • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep. • Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShell. • Experience working alongside DevOps, Platform Engineering, and SRE teams. • Experience supporting CI/CD and automated deployment practices. • Experience using AI-powered tools to improve PostgreSQL administration, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency.
