<Handoff> is an AI-powered SaaS platform that automates estimating, proposals, invoicing, and project management for residential construction professionals, including remodelers, handymen, and fix-and-flip investors. It generates instant AI estimates from descriptions, drawings, photos, and uploaded files, and includes CRM, change order management, an AI assistant, file management, and homeowner financing tools to help contractors close more deals and run their back-office operations efficiently.

📋 Description

• Ensure the quality of estimates and takeoffs: serve as the primary bridge between Handoff and our clients, ensuring estimates are accurate, complete, and aligned with each client's expectations. • Create QA processes: develop criteria and systems to verify scope accuracy, quantities, materials, SKUs, and client-specific preferences. • Ensure delivery timelines: coordinate delivery of estimates within 48 hours for enterprise clients, including residential and commercial projects, both new construction and remodels. • Create detailed material lists: review and assemble material-level estimates, including items such as studs, cladding, finishes, connectors, fasteners, adhesives, consumables, and other necessary materials. • Adapt estimates to client requirements: ensure outputs align with specific SKUs, sizes, technical specifications, preferred brands, product lines, colors, and finishes. • Lead client communication: engage with contractors, suppliers, and other clients via phone, video call, or messaging to explain capabilities, limitations, timelines, and expectations. • Manage estimators: coordinate the work of professionals who QA drawings, takeoffs, and estimates, ensuring quality and speed.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in residential construction, including remodels, ground-up construction, large-scale residential projects, custom homes, design-build, single-family, or multifamily. • Hands-on experience reading construction drawings and performing takeoffs, preferably using tools such as PlanSwift, PrebuiltML, OST, or Bluebeam. • Familiarity with estimating, project management, or construction software like Buildertrend, JobTread, or Procore. • Interest in transitioning from a traditional construction role to a position closer to product, software, and AI within a startup. • Ownership and sense of urgency: you must be able to take final responsibility for estimate quality and represent Handoff well to clients. • Hands-on field or trade experience is a strong plus. We value candidates who have worked as foremen, installers, inspectors, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, technicians, QA specialists, or similar roles. • Solid understanding of end-to-end residential construction workflows — from foundation to finishes.
