📋 Description

• help lead the company’s response to employment- related and operational disputes • proactively manage legal risk across a large, multi-state care network • partner closely with both HQ and Care operations teams to address pre-litigation disputes and litigation • provide practical advice on employment and compliance issues • build scalable processes that reduce risk and support compliant growth • help navigate an increasingly complex regulatory and litigation landscape while continuing to operate efficiently and compassionately at scale • directly influence business practices, shape risk mitigation strategies, and work at the intersection of legal, operations, and technology • manage outside counsel and litigation spend • support internal investigations and sensitive employee matters

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. and active bar membership, with 4–6 years of relevant legal experience • Strong employment law and litigation experience, including handling disputes and administrative claims (e.g., EEOC or state agencies) • Deep knowledge of California wage & hour law and familiarity with multi-state employment compliance • Experience drafting employment documents, or contributing to motions, pleadings, and litigation strategy • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business guidance • Intellectual curiosity; digs into issues, asks thoughtful questions, and challenges assumptions rather than taking things at face value • Practical, solutions-oriented mindset; partners with the business in a helpful, pragmatic way rather than taking a purely risk-averse approach
