• Support HOT's Eastern & Southern Africa Hub in implementing communications and branding initiatives that advance HOT's mission • Assist with the rollout of the ESA Hub's communications initiatives and products, including HOT's central/global branding and communications strategies • Draft first versions of articles, newsletters, blog posts, social media posts, success stories, and case studies • Contribute ideas for campaigns and storytelling initiatives • Maintain organized archives of photos, videos, and documents • Review content for typos, inconsistencies, and brand misalignment before publication • Liaise with project leads to collect updated project information • Update existing website pages with provided and approved content • Check live pages for outdated information and flag it for review • Upload new photos, project statistics, or documents to relevant website pages • Maintain a log of website updates • Format and schedule approved social media posts across platforms • Maintain a content calendar • Log reach, engagement, and performance numbers into a centralized database • Compile social, website, and newsletter analytics consistently on a monthly cadence • Compile newsletter distribution and list segmentation data • Prepare raw numbers in a simple format for interpretation and reporting
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's degree program in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field • Must be based in an Eastern or Southern African country • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel • Familiarity with social media platforms and their best practices • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills • Creativity and willingness to learn • Reliable personal laptop and stable internet connection • Basic understanding of graphic design principles and tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, not required • Submit a CV of not more than 2 pages
