📋 Description

• Design and build scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, databases, and web front-ends • Own features end-to-end from scoping and architecture through implementation, testing, release, and optimisation • Collaborate with product, design, QA, mobile, and DevOps teams to deliver features aligned with product strategy and client needs • Improve server and browser performance through query optimisation, caching, scalability, load-time, and responsiveness enhancements • Apply SOLID principles, microservices, event-driven design, authentication, authorisation, and API security • Conduct code reviews and maintain technical documentation • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using TDD/BDD practices • Design automated testing strategies with QA teams and resolve production issues through root cause analysis • Translate designs into accessible, performant, pixel-accurate front-end code • Integrate services with third-party APIs, message queues, caching layers, and monitoring/logging platforms • Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure reliability • Use Git with disciplined branching, commits, and pull requests • Communicate technical concepts and provide technical guidance and knowledge-sharing • Use AI tools for code generation, debugging, documentation, testing, research, architecture, and productivity • Champion iiDENTIFii's culture and mission of powering remote biometric digital authentication

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a full stack developer with shipped applications spanning backend services and web front-ends • Experience building end-to-end applications from data modelling and API design through front-end implementation, testing, deployment, and production support • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with product, design, QA, mobile, and DevOps • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle and production engineering discipline • Experience with code reviews, technical documentation, and engineering best practices • Exposure to performance optimisation, scalability challenges, and production support at scale • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices • Understanding of microservices and event-driven systems • Proficiency in C# and ASP.NET / .NET Core • Experience designing and securing RESTful APIs • Proficiency in SQL Server, SQL syntax, and relational database design • Proficiency in React or Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and web standards • Basic experience with Azure, GCP, or AWS • Familiarity with Docker and Azure DevOps or Jenkins • Experience with Sentry.io, SeriLog, Log4Net, or Azure Application Insights • Experience with Git/GitHub and disciplined source control practices • Strong debugging, testing, and performance-tuning skills; TDD/BDD exposure • Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, object-oriented design, algorithm design, and complexity analysis • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent demonstrated experience is equally valid • Ability to use AI tools as a standard part of engineering work • Cape Town-based preferred
