📋 Description

• Act as a strategic bridge between Engineering, AI/Data Labs, SRE and Executive/Finance leadership • Map cloud environments and diagnose technical efficiency opportunities • Architect financial governance for the generative AI platform on GCP • Lead the modeling of token-based chargeback, LLM consumption limits, and optimization of inference costs in production • Operate and evolve LLM gateways, managing model routing, rate limits, team budgets and failover • Structure and maintain Chargeback and Showback models by Input/Output token consumption, application, squad, project and use case • Define and monitor AI unit economics metrics • Continuously optimize inference costs balancing price, latency and model quality • Implement guardrails, dynamic alerts in GCP Billing and automated kill-switches • Support the establishment of LLM observability with consumption and cost tracing tools • Perform diagnostics of GCP/AWS cloud environments, identifying waste and optimization opportunities • Implement rightsizing, management of CUDs, data lifecycle policies and elimination of idle resources • Create and maintain operational and executive dashboards in Looker Studio • Communicate financial impacts to internal clients and technical stakeholders • Assess resilience, availability and performance of production applications • Manage and optimize costs of Kubernetes GKE clusters, tuning HPA/VPA, node pools and workload allocation • Ensure infrastructure automation via Terraform and maintain/evolve CI/CD pipelines • Support infrastructure observability patterns with Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Logging and OpenTelemetry

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in Cloud Engineering, SRE, DevOps or Systems Architecture • At least 2+ years dedicated to FinOps and Cloud Cost Management • Hands-on experience managing LLM consumption in Vertex AI (GCP) or equivalent ecosystems • Proficiency in token-based pricing and inference quotas • Experience operating AI proxies/gateways, such as LiteLLM or similar • Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform • Proficiency with GCP Billing, BigQuery Billing Export and Budgets & Alerts • Experience administering and financially optimizing GKE clusters • Proficiency with Terraform for provisioning and environment automation • Practical skills in Python and/or Shell Script for automation and data collection via APIs • Experience with Langfuse, LangSmith, Traceloop or similar is desirable • GCP Professional Cloud Architect, GCP Professional Data/ML Engineer or FinOps Certified Practitioner certifications are desirable • Knowledge in DevSecOps, IAM for AI services and governance of sensitive data in prompts is desirable
