📋 Description

• Analyze the interaction between PHP code and databases/data at large scale on a legacy codebase • Identify and prevent off-by-one errors and unnecessary exponential-time or otherwise non-performant code • Assess performance differences between small- and large-scale workloads • Write performant SQL queries and implement code to execute them efficiently • Audit existing queries and recommend query or code improvements • Design approaches for scaling code and queries as data volume increases by factors of 10 • Create databases and recommend logical sort keys, shard keys, and indexes • Audit and review existing tables and recommend schema and architecture improvements

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in PHP development • Excellent knowledge of databases • Extensive experience working with large volumes of data • Experience writing complex and optimized SQL queries • Excellent knowledge of modern PHP versions • Experience working with relational databases; SingleStore/MemSQL is a bonus • Experience maintaining applications on Linux platforms in cloud environments • Professional experience following Agile/Scrum methodologies • Demonstrated technical troubleshooting experience • Ability to work independently and with a team across different time zones • Experience with vulnerability scanning technologies such as SCA, SAST, DAST, IAST, VM scanning, or container technologies is a plus • Experience working in cloud environments, ideally AWS, is a plus • Experience with data analytics and/or data science is a plus
